Check out the manual that can be accessed via the START button menu, under the VideoGameTYCOON menu.  It has a wealth of good information, particularly regarding objects and their properties.

 

CHEATS

Setting the player name to vgtall will let you play locked levels, and will unlock any locked players as well.

Setting the designer name to vgtburncd will let you burn CDs even if you haven't achieved the Silver Video Game Designer Award.

Setting the designer name to vgtall will do the same as vgtburncd and will also unlock the Pegasus and Kruiser models.
