VIDEO GAME TYCOON will run as a demo for 3 days, and then requires you to unlock it. There are several ways to do this. We recommend that you unlock it as soon as possible to ensure that you continue being able to play.

Please be sure you run as ADMINISTRATOR to unlock Video Game TYCOON.

If you have trouble, please refer to the SUPPORT page for help.   It has information regarding missing license IDs, invalid keys, and much more.

1. If you have access to the internet...

The easiest and recommended method is to enter the License ID and PASSWORD that were provided with the product when you purchased it. The ID and PASSWORD can be found on the inside of the CD case.

You must ensure that your firewall is disabled or configured to let VideoGameTycoon through, or else you will either get an InvalidKey error, or the game may appear to hang as it waits on the firewall.

After you enter the ID and PASSWORD, the game will automatically connect to the gamesweet.com website and acquire the necessary unlock code. No personal information is sent when this is done.

2.  If you do not have access to the internet, or have trouble getting around your internet firewall...

We will need both the Software ID (SWID) and Hardware ID (HWID) that is displayed in the UNLOCK Dialog in addition to the license ID and password.

If you have version 1.22 or earlier, this information is displayed by pressing UNLOCK and then answering NO that you do not want to connect online. 

If you have version 1.23 or later, this information is displayed by pressing the UNLOCK-BY-PHONE button. 

Once you have the SWID and HWID, call 207-875-2820 with those numbers and your license ID and password, and follow the prompts to get your unlock key.

When you receive the unlock key by phone, enter it into the UNLOCK KEY field.  First you must delete the 0 that is there using the backspace.  Then press UNLOCK and you should be all set.
